[All-Staff] UWA Travel Policy - Incorporation of International SOS Traveller Locator System (ISOS)

The UWA Travel Policy is changing.

In anticipation of the new Travel Requisitioning System currently being
launched, the UWA Travel Policy has been amended to incorporate the
functionality of the new system and the switch from the DFAT (Department
of Foreign Affairs and Trade) travel advice guidelines to the integrated
International SOS Traveller Locator System (ISOS).

ISOS provides both medical and security ratings for all travel
destinations.  The integration of this system into the Travel
Requisitioning tool allows for automated workflow approval and greater
visibility of travellers at-risk of, or in emergency situations ensuring
that prompt emergency assistance is available when required to all UWA
staff and students travelling on behalf of the university.  

The Travel Requisitioning System will provide greater visibility,
control and reporting capabilities on all travel expenditure within your
business units and do away with the need for paper forms through the
automated online authorisation and financial approval workflow processes
embedded within the program.  The system will facilitate a reduced
processing time for obtaining quotes from the Travel Service Providers
through online, automated requests. The integrated FBT estimator will
prompt travellers to contact the tax team regarding Fringe Benefit Tax
where appropriate and provide a link to ESS to book any personal leave
incorporated within the travel.  Travellers will also benefit from the
ability to log in through remote access to maintain their travel diaries
at their leisure.

The PTP rollout team  are currently rolling out the new Travel
Requisitioning System, with all faculties, schools and centres due to go
live by the end of March 2011.  During rollout there will be a period of
transition between the old and new travel policies.  Travel booked under
the current process should be in accordance with the current travel (and
associated) policy however once your area has gone live you should refer
to the new travel policy document.   From the 31st March all individuals
travelling on UWA business are to adopt the new travel policy.
